A German-style dark lager with moderate malt character, somewhere between the malt character of an American dark lager and a Munich dunkel. It is the darkest and often the most roasty of the dark lager styles. While the roast flavour is more apparent in this dark lager than others, it is still not the intense roast, burnt, or acrid flavour that you often find in stouts and some porters.
