Dark garnet red. Elegant, round nose with lingering fruity, spicy, balsamic and mineral undertones. Strong, warm body, with powerful aromas and well-balanced flavours. Long, intense finish. Lends itself to lengthy ageing, with a cellar life even extending to over fifteen years. Pairs well with roast veal, rump steak cooked in Barolo wine, mature cheeses.
This is an impressive wine in many ways. The nose is extremely alluring, with mint, oranges and Christmas spices. The palate is massive - a huge ball of ripe, sweet fruit sits in the middle of a rigid tannic structure. It has huge personality and buckets of potential but will need time for all these big facets to meld into one another.
