The first age statement release from Lochlea, this limited-edition single malt was released on Burns Night 2024 – fitting since Robert Burns lived and worked on Lochlea Farm.

It's a vatting of just five casks, two of which were filled in Lochlea's very first distillation run: two first-fill bourbon casks, one first-fill oloroso sherry cask, one double-matured oloroso sherry cask, and a double-matured Pedro Ximénez sherry cask. As always, it’s made entirely from barley grown on the distillery farm.  Master of Malt

"Opening with brown sugar and baked pineapple, the rich cake-like notes of the nose give way to citrus zest and candied pear crumble on the palate. Tangy orange peel slowly melts into sumptuous caramel on the finish, accompanied by hints of black pepper, rose petals and leather. This whisky sits at 50% ABV and, as with all of our whiskies, is non-chill filtered and natural colour. As this release was derived from just 5 casks, the Lochlea 5 Year Old was limited to 2,000 bottles worldwide, meaning it sold out extremely quickly." Lochlea
