The Tomatin distillery has been producing whisky in the Scottish Highlands since 1897, with origins dating back well into the 1700s. They use naturally soft water from the Alt-na-Frith burn (stream) and Scottish-grown barley. The name Tomatin gives an insight into their past: “Tomatin” translates to “Hill of the Juniper Bush”, as juniper wood gives off no smoke while burning, it has long been a favourite of illicit distillers who had to keep their practice secret.

We are lucky to have our own cask from this historic distillery, with only 300 bottles produced and aged for 28 years in a single bourbon cask. Each bottle is individually numbered and at cask strength, so add 1 drop of water for every half ounce. There is no artificial colouring added.

Appearance: Warm amber in colour.
Nose: Sweet aromas of vanilla on the nose.
Palate: Notes of vanilla carried over as well as, tropical fruits, butterscotch, and honey.
