André Clouet Un Jour de 1911 Grand Cru is a champagne produced by the winery André Clouet in Bouzy, Champagne A.O.C. The Clouet family has been making champagne for over 200 years, vinifying the grapes from the vineyards they received from Napoleon as a show of gratitude for the work they did for many years as the king’s scribes. Maison Clouet has 9 hectares of vineyards with different plots in the village of Bouzy, all of them classified as Grand Cru and cultivated organically. Tradition and the ‘savoir faire’ of a winery with as much history as André Clouet, imprint their style in al their fabulous champagnes.
André Clouet Un Jour de 1911 Grand Cru is a made with Pinot Noir from their own vineyards planted on clayey-calcareous soils. Only 1911 bottles of this fantastic Blanc de Noirs are produced. This number commemorates the date of the revolt that defended the origin of Champagne. It is a mixture of different vintages with a minimum ageing of 8 years. Pronounced aromas of brioche, preserved peaches and white flowers. The palate is full and focused with lots of fruit and sweet spices showing deep concentration, viscosity, and intense minerality.  The finish is long and satisfying. A richly-textured, expansive Champagne, the 1911 bursts from the glass with expressive layers of perfumed Pinot fruit.
