Villa Poggio Salvi is a Tuscan wine estate based in Montalcino, known for its Brunello di Montalcino wines made from the Sangiovese grape. It has been owned by the Tagliabue family since 1979, although wine growing here dates back to the 16th century. Villa Poggio Salvi makes a range of wines from the area, led by Pomona, a single-vineyard Brunello di Montalcino named after the Roman goddess of fruitful abundance, whose image features on all labels. This wine is aged for 30 months in Slavonian oak before release. The Montalcino lineup also includes a standard Brunello and a Riserva, as well as a Rosso di Montalcino, all of which are aged in oak for a period determined by the cuvée and the vintage. Villa Poggio Salvi also makes a grappa and a Moscadello di Montalcino.
