A wine that is neither deceitful nor ostentatious, Corriente is a simple and approachable wine that represents a region, its culture and of course its wine. The Tempranillo, Graciano and Garnacha grapes are hand harvested and fermented with indigenous yeasts in cement tanks. The wine is then aged for just under a year in a combination of larger oak foudres and barriques of different ages and origins. As befits its name (corriente = current) the wine is released soon after bottling to retain its vibrant and expressive fruit and approachable and rewarding style. Fragrant wine with aromas of dark fruit and spices, full flavor with soft tannin and a balanced, long aftertaste.

This is a good introduction to Lanzaga's wines. You get minerals, citrus fruit and spiced berries. Medium-bodied with firm, dusty tannins and a tight finish. Well made and really drinkable now. Why wait?
