Black Hills Nota Bene
Black Hills Winery Nota Bene, named for the Latin ‘take note' or 'well noted’ its certainly an adapt name for this fantastic red with luscious dark fruit, mocha, and baking spice flavours. Enjoy on its own or with braised lamb shoulder.
Nota Bene is an established B.C. icon, full of archetypal savoury/herbal character, with a graceful balance between fresh ripe fruit and signature bright Okanagan acidity. The wine is replete with luscious dark fruit, mocha, and baking spice exoticism, and smoothly polished tannins. Complex and savoury, Nota Bene has a long and satisfying finish that displays the dusty minerals of the Bench.
Pair with locally-pastured beef, braised lamb shoulder, or a fine B.C. aged cheddar.
91 POINTS! Anthony Gismondi
"The 2016 is easily the most elegant Nota Bene I have encountered, no doubt aided by a very controlled 13.5 alcohol. Certainly, it's fresher upfront and brighter, but still with some stingy spice and wild herbs that punctuate its red and black current flavours, finishing with savoury, south Okanagan sage and resiny graphite notes. Lay this down for five years if you can wait."
