Named after a hillside vineyard located on the northeastern slope of the Yerga mountain in eastern Rioja, La Montesa is a blend of the indigenous grape varieties that grow on the Palacios Remondo estate; 95% Garnacha and 5% other traditional varieties.

Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, this purple-red wine presents reductive aromas of tangerine and sour cherry and a Cointreau-like perfume against a contrasting fine cedar layer. It is dry, lean and vibrant on the palate, offering a joyful and cleansing mouthfeel that lingers on a cheerful finish. This is a Garnacha with flavour and flow. Joaquín Hidalgo, Vinous.
