The 2022 Peri Peri “Totò” Nero d’Avola is made from 100% organically grown Nero d’Avola from the De Cerchio family’s Peri Peri estate near Sciacca, in the province of Agrigento, on Sicily’s southwest coast.

Deep ruby in the glass, the 2022 opens with black cherry, ripe plum, raspberry, and blackberry, followed by licorice, cocoa, black pepper, and dried Mediterranean herbs. The palate is medium- to full-bodied but not excessively heavy, with ripe dark fruit carried by fresh acidity and supple tannins. This is a ripe and balanced interpretation of Nero d’Avola, emphasizing the grape’s dark-fruited generosity without pushing it toward jamminess.    Winemaker Notes
