Glen Moray Distillery, formerly a brewery, was converted in 1897. Situated to the west of Elgin, its soft and fruity character is often attributed to the relatively high humidity in the warehouses, a result of its proximity to the River Lossie. 

The nose opens with a savoury hit of smoky cooked ham glazed in honey and clove, lifted by a bright undercurrent of tart red berries and juicy cherries. As it develops, the palate reveals layers of cracked black pepper. toasted fennel seed, and the gentle warmth of mulled spice. A subtle breadiness emerges towards the finish, with a final flicker of liquorice root that lingers with a dry, spicy bite.    Berry Bros. & Rudd
