A dry Chenin Blanc, the 'L'Inedit' (Unpublished) Vouvray Sec from Maison Darragon has a complex nose with aromas of vanilla and ripe fruit and a powerful palate carried by a beautiful balance. 

The Darragon estate boasts vineyards spanning 40 hectares in the Loire Valleys Touraine region. While their winemaking facilities are new and modern, their old cellars are dug into the rock caves located in the Vouvray vineyards. Chenin Blanc is the estates main grape variety, well-suited to this region where limestone and clay dominate the soil. The mild climate nurtures grapes that achieve a balanced ripeness, offering adequate sweetness along with fine acidity.

The 2021 vintage has a bright young straw colour. Pure nose offering discreet oak and some nutty notes, ripe pear, sweet citrus and floral notes. Good grip on the palate, rather ample, still with some present oak and toast notes but well balanced with pure and crisp fruit, fine extract and a long lingering finish. Andreas Larsson
