Château Angludet in Margaux, France, has belonged to the Sichel family since 1961 and is now run by Benjamin Sichel. The 30 hectares of vines are planted in one contiguous block, farmed biodynamically for over 20 years.
The 2021 Angludet is deep. dark, almost opaque ruby red color with a vivid purple rim. The aromas are of ripe red-plum, cinnamon spice and cedar. The palate displays juicy plum fruit and has a very smooth, juicy texture. The style is quite light-bodied with fine tannins giving a little grip and some bitterness towards the finish. Well balanced, acidity is fresh and the wine has a long, lean finish.
Blend: 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, 22% Petit Verdot & 2% Other
90 Points - Jane Anson
A sterling name in the Margaux appellation, often offering outstanding value in multiple vintages. They have leaned into the vintage character not trying to fight against it, and what you get as a result is savoury juicy red and black fruits, with waves of Margaux-signature florality.
