Charity Sales Days Raises Over $140,000 for Local Non-Profit Organizations
Willow Park Wines & Spirits (WPWS) has a long history of charitable giving. This Calgary, Alberta retailer started a charity wine auction in their first year of business in 1994. It's one of the city’s most successful fund raisers, with over $5 million given to charity.
Until COVID-19 forced a stop in 2020, not a year had been missed. WPWS quickly developed a new program to continue the tradition of raising funds while supporters raise a glass.
Charity Sales Days launched November 1, 2020
Each participating charity was given a three-day sale window $2 to $6 from every bottle sold was donated to the charity. A raffle or auction item was given to each charity to offer up to their supporters and an online auction also was undertaken to raise funds for the charities.
