Faustino Gran Reserva 1994
92 Points Decanter
Clean, bright, medium deep. Maroon developing to brick red. Deep and complex nose. Balance between cedar and sweet spices hints such as cinammon. Deep, sweet dark-cherry fruit forms a solid foundation for this impressive wine. There's a touch of menthol oak on the nose; plenty of leather and earth accents in the mouth, coupled with good acidity, keep the palate complex and lively. Finishes long, with full but-not harsh-tannins. Light and silky, soft tannin integrated with the acidity. Aftertaste: Remarkable sweet. Finish: Long and complex.
It matches with any kind of meat and mushrooms rice. Some tasty or oily fish such as tuna or cod. Medium-aged cheese such as emmental or gruyere.
