"Cabernet Sauvignon is the majority with a blend identical to that of 2015: 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot With an average age of vines approaching 35 years in the blend, this vintage 2016 is one of the most remarkable successes of the Fiefs de Lagrange on the estate. It is more powerful and more fleshy than the 2015, it presents itself wonderfully well and suggests a guard potential never reached until then.
2016 is an exceptional year at Château Lagrange , with Cabernet Sauvignon of great concentration, coated with thick skins, rich in color and tannins. It is also the flagship vintage of the 2016 vintage, an extreme refinement in the Médoc, and particularly at Château Lagrange! Matthieu Bordes , at the direction of the domain, is said to be dazzled by this unusual vintage which he presents as a "modern classic" . Classical by its power and freshness, but modern by its silky touch and its precocious drinkability.
