WINE PROFILE
Tasting Notes
They 2016 Bouscaut Blanc has an attractive apricot blossom and citrus peel nose that is actually one of the most satsifying and charming dry white Bordeaux that I encountered during my tastings. The palate is well balanced with a peachy opening, good weight and acidity with just the right amount of tropical fruit without impeding upon terroir expression. This comes recommended. 90 - 92 Wine Advocate
Awards
Here we get a curl of woodsmoke, very subtle and well handled but it just signals that we have moved up a gear into a white with more ambition for ageing. This is lovely, with white pear and fresh citrus flavours, a really mouthwatering succulence, and some good acidity. Not the intensity of the best years, but a good showing for the vintage. 92 Decanter

Other Notes
Pessac-Léognan, Classified Growth of Graves in Cadaujac. Château Bouscaut was acquired in 1979 by Lucien Lurton, who gave the property to his daughter Sophie Lurton in 1992. Since then, Sophie Lurton has worked with her husband, Laurent Cogombles, to extract the best of this original terroir. The terroir of Bouscaut is essentially composed of clayey-gravel lands, on limestone basement. The whites of Bouscaut have a beautiful silky texture and a character very aromatic in semillon as in sauvignon. They are wines of great guard evolving towards notes of flowers and dried fruit with a smoky character. Château Bouscaut strives to produce wines faithful to their terroir in the purest tradition of the Grands Crus de Bordeaux.
