Sgroppino al Limone

With the great prosecco we have on sale this week, we thought you might be wondering what sort of cocktails you could make with it!

Sgroppino al Limone is a traditional chilled and frothy lemon cocktail served in Venice that is perfect to serve as a palate cleanser, a dessert, or a pre-dinner drink.

  • 2 cups lemon sorbet, softened
  • 2.5 oz vodka
  • Prosecco
  • Zest of 1 lemon

  1. Softly whisk lemon sorbet until smooth.
  2. Slowly mix in vodka, half of the lemon zest and prosecco until frothy, but not too liquid like.  (A firmer texture is best as it will liquefy as it melts in the glass; a texture where it can form soft peaks is best.)
  3. Pour in to flute glasses and sprinkle with remaining lemon zest.
  4. Add a straw or spoon, and serve.

Sgroppino makes a fantastic dessert - try pairing it with fresh fruit skewers or vanilla cookies for a refreshing, light  (click here for a great cookie recipe!)
