How to make great burgers

‚ÄčThis recipe contains a few great tips on how to make your own fantastic burgers at home - no need to buy pre-made patties from the store!

Home-Made Burgers


  • 1-2 lbs Ground chuck
  • Sea Salt
  • Ground peppercorns (we like tellicherry peppercorns)
  • Garlic power (optional)
  • Onion powder (optional)
  • Hamburger Buns (Or French rolls)


  1. Turn on your bbq - you want the heat to be fairly high
  2. Line a cookie sheet or tray with wax paper
  3. Place ground chuck in a bowl
  4. Add a fairly liberal amount of salt and pepper (garlic and onion powder as well, if desired) and mix in to the meat
  5. Form patties and place on your lined tray
  6. Grill the burgers - time will vary depending on thickness, but don't squish them with your spatula while cooking or they might dry out
  7. Once your burgers are cooked, let them rest for a couple of minutes - this will give you time to toast those buns on the grill

Top with cheese, bacon, or whatever you like on your burger!


  1. Let your meat come to room temperature before cooking
  2. Ground chuck holds together better than regular ground beef, which is why you won't need eggs, flour or oatmeal to form nice burgers
