At the tasting, the Chateau Canon La Gaffeliere 2018 displays a dark purple color with violet reflections. At first discreet, the nose opens on sumptuous aromas of red fruits (cherry with kirsch), evolving notes of licorice, and floral fragrances, like orange blossom. Fine mineral notes appear next. On the palate, the wine displays an exquisitely velvety texture, structured by dense tannins with a silky grain. With its great precision and straightforwardness, the palate appears powerful and deep, while preserving a nice freshness. The finish here is elegant and refined, and very long. A dazzling Chateau Canon La Gaffeliere 2018 that stands as a reward for all the efforts made by the property's technical team and Count Stephan Von Neipperg.
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2018 Canon la Gaffeliere has a fantastically exuberant nose of preserved plums, blueberry compote and black cherry pie with hints of menthol, mocha, Sichuan pepper and garrigue plus wafts of lavender and tilled soil. Full-bodied, concentrated and wonderfully decadent, it has a firm yet plush texture and just enough freshness in the background, finishing long with a menthol lift. - Wine Advocate/Parker
