Why Wellspring?

Posted on by Sarah Ross

Many of the charities we work with are selected because of a deeply personal connection to the Trusted Experts. Our partnership with Wellspring allows us to continue raising funds and awareness to support this amazing organization. From Thursday, November 11 to Wednesday, November 17 we’re devoting a week of ‘Charity Sales Days’ with 15 per cent of the proceeds from featured products being donated to Wellspring Calgary.

Under powerful leadership there’s no wonder this organization continues to excel. Their energetic team works hard to create a lively and welcoming environment to anyone who walks through the doors. They continue to build programs and resources to enhance the lives of those living with cancer, reinforcing their vision statement of, “No one has to face cancer alone”.

About Wellspring Calgary

Founded in 2007, Wellspring offers programs and services that meet the emotional, social and restorative needs of people living with cancer, their caregivers and their families. All of Wellspring’s programs are evidence-informed and offered free of charge and without referral. They operate two centres in Calgary and offer a full range of programs online and by phone, with a southern Alberta reach spanning Red Deer to the Canadian border.

Why Do They Exist?

To share. To support. To give. After hearing the words “you have cancer”, there’s only so much research and treatment articles you can bare. Wellspring is there for the recovery and challenges those face emotionally, physically, and socially. They are devoted to the non-medical impacts of having cancer and focus on building strength to individuals diagnosed, caregivers, and kids.

Where Can You Find These Amazing People?

Wellspring Calgary has two physical centres and one online centre.

Carma House: The Carma House is a welcoming community where cancer patients, caregivers and families gather to take part in programs and connect with others on a similar path.

Randy O’Dell House: The newly opened sanctuary in Seton that offers the space and capacity to serve and provide more individuals living with cancer.

Online House: Be part of the action, wherever you are! The online house is where you can access evidence-informed programs facilitated by experienced leaders and professionals in the cancer community.
