Sangria Recipes

  1. Watermelon-Strawberry Sangria

1 small seedless watermelon, rind removed, flesh cut into large chunks

1 lb strawberries, hulled and sliced, 1 cup reserved for garnish

1 bottle rose wine, cold

1 cup vodka

1 cup fresh orange juice

½ cup orange liqueur

1 orange, sliced

1 lime, sliced

Combine the watermelon and strawberries in a blender and blend until smooth; add a splash of the vodka if needed to get the fruit pureed.

Strain into a large pitcher, you will need about 4 cups total juice. Add the rose, vodka, orange juice, and orange liqueur and stir to combine. Add the orange and lime slices, cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour and up to 24 hours. Just before serving, add the reserved strawberries. Serve in glasses over ice.

  1. Red Room Sangria

1 bottle dry red wine

1/3 cup pomegranate juice

1/3 cup bourbon

1 tbsp honey

1 apple, sliced

1 peach, diced

½ lb cherries, pitted and halved

In a pitcher, combine wine, pomegranate juice, bourbon, and honey, stirring until the honey has dissolved. Add fruit. Chill for at least 1 hour, letting the fruit absorb the sangria a bit. Pour into glasses and serve.

  1. Sweet Tea Sangria

1 bottle white wine, such as Sauvignon Blanc

4 cups sweet tea

¼ cup Triple Sec

2 cups sliced frozen peaches

2 cups raspberries

Fresh mint, for garnish
