Ingredients
- 6 cups of popped popped corn
- 1 package bacon
- 1/3 cup + 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
- 1 cup + 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 4 tbsp of butter
- 1 tsp baking soda
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350
- Place bacon on a cooling rack over a foil wrapped baking sheet (one with an edge around it so the grease doesn't spill over)
- Brush the maple syrup on the bacon slices
- Sprinkle brown sugar over the bacon
- Bake for 20 minutes
- When down allow to cool for 30 minutes
- When bacon has cooled tear it up into small pieces, set aside
- Melt butter in a sauce pan over medium heat
- Add brown sugar and maple syrup and bring to a boil
- Simmer over low heat for 5 minutes
- Stir in baking soda
- Pour mixture over popcorn, add bacon and stir until evenly coated
- We suggest enjoying this with a maple beer, off-dried Riesling or for something really special a demi-sec Champagne.
